Leader Oeste is a private non-profit association, established in 1994, whose mission is to develop the 12 municipalities of the Oeste region. Its functions are delegated by the State within the extent of the Leader approach to Community-Based Local Development, with the management of the Alto Oeste and Baixo Oeste Local Action Groups.
The association manages a Local Social Development Contract, CLDS - Melhor Cadaval, a project committed to the promotion of active aging and to assisting the elderly population of the Cadaval municipality.
It is also the Reception Structure of EUROPE DIRECT Oeste, Lezíria e Médio Tejo, a local contact point of the European Union. Its intervention area consists of the Oeste, Lezíria do Tejo, and Médio Tejo municipalities.
