In the year in which we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese ‘Carnation Revolution’, we cannot fail to nurture Democracy and pay homage to all those who fought so that today we can express ourselves freely: military heroes, civilian heroes, and anonymous heroes.
A people that resists, a resilient people, here's a narrative that could be 50 or 200 years old!
We are honouring the date with a complete graphic redesign of INVADE magazine, now in its tenth edition — because success, far from leading to stagnation, encourages us to do always more and always better.
It is also as a tribute that our book Jean, John e João is published by Rota Histórica das Linhas de Torres and Pato Lógico, with text by Ricardo Henriques and illustrations by André Letria. The three protagonists remind us that friendship can arise in the most inhospitable of contexts.
In 2024, we brought the Past and the Future together by presenting various technological solutions that will allow visitors to our Interpretation Centres to experience some of the most important episodes of the three French Invasions of Portugal: from the preparations for the departure of the Royal Family to the construction of what is considered to be the most effective defensive system in contemporary history — the Lines of Torres Vedras.
13 Virtual Reality experiences and many more Augmented Reality ones invite you to visit forts, battlefields, churches, monuments, and exhibition spaces.
13 municipalities, united in a common project, working as a network and proving beyond any doubt that together we are (always) stronger!
And so, united, we will continue to educate for and by Peace, to fight for Freedom, to resist and to honour our ancestors who, both 200 and 50 years ago, left us a legacy of resilience and independence.
