InvadeMAG: the Historic Route new portal

In October 2023, the InvadeMAG portal was launched, creating a strong presence, which we had long felt was urgent, on the World Wide Web for the magazine of the Historic Route of the Lines of Torres Vedras.

INVADE magazine and the InvadeMAG portal are not in competition with each other. Quite the opposite, they complement each other: by not being subject to the constraints of paper editions, InvadeMAG allows us to offer not only content that is not printed due to space limitations, but also features that are natural to the new technologies, allowing a higher quality offer to the most varied age groups, in favour of the Lines of Torres Vedras, the region's tourist offer, and the promotion of its unique historic heritage.

In fact, InvadeMAG is much more than the online version of INVADE magazine. As well as providing a comprehensive archive of all the contents of the printed version, the portal offers functionalities that are only possible in digital format. InvadeBLOG is the InvadeMAG blog, with permanent information, in a colloquial tone, on what's happening in the region and notes on the Lines and their historical and cultural references. InvadeCAST is the podcast (in video and also available, in audio only, on Spotify) of the Historic Route. Documentaries produced by RHLT, such as BonapARTE and Napoleonaea imperialis, can be viewed directly on the portal. Image galleries give the public a much more comprehensive view of the articles published in the magazine and the events taking place on the Historic Route. RHLT paper publications, such as the bilingual guide At the Heart of the Lines of Torres Vedras, are available in PDF format. These are just some of the many features that the portal already has, but - because we can't sit still - many more will be added in the future.

Finally, the English-language version of InvadeMAG is not a simple translation of the Portuguese version. On the contrary, it has been curated and edited with the aim of adding relevant information for readers of other nationalities and clarifying texts and references that are difficult to understand for those who are not fluent in Portuguese.
