In recognition of the work of the entities and institutions that have been contributing the most to the development of the Lines of Torres Vedras region, we created the Wellington Honour Distinction. This award, which has a symbolic character, is intended both to honour the performance of the awardees and to generate synergies between them and the Historical Route of the Lines of Torres Vedras. We are certain that, by joining our efforts, we will make our region a model to follow.
The Wellington Honour will distinguish contributions in one of the following areas:
Culture and Creativity
Environment and Sustainability
Accessibility and Inclusion
Sport and Adventure
Promotion and Communication
Those distinguished with the Wellington Honour will be announced, each year, on October 20, at the solemn public ceremony of the National Day of the Lines of Torres Vedras.
This was the motto of the campaign carried out by the Historical Route of the Lines of Torres Vedras to encourage the return of tourism in the territory. During six weeks, we published, on social networks and in our Interpretation Centres, six short silent films illustrating, through the representation of unpretencious and varied experiences, some of the most emblematic forts in the region. To our great satisfaction, the six short films were a success on Facebook, attaining tens of thousands of views in just a few days.
