Because we can't take our eyes off the screen.

The Lines of the Horizon

Understanding the French Revolution and the Napoleonic era in the fullness of their global effects is not easy — so many transformations did they bring about in the societies they affected. This documentary tells you about the lasting changes that the Portuguese territory in general, and the Lines of Torres Vedras region in particular, underwent with the defence of Lisbon in 1810.

The lines on our horizon seem insuperably beautiful to us today. Not because others are not equally beautiful, but because it is in the nature of the Lines of Torres Vedras to be just that: insuperable.
