With winter just around the corner, we suggest a new experience not to be missed by those looking to get closer to the power of nature. The getaway we propose runs along the coast of Lourinhã and Torres Vedras, where the fragrance and flavours of the sea always accompany you.
The curious name of the Noiva do Mar guest house, in Porto das Barcas, goes back to the history of the family that runs it: 'Noiva do Mar' ('Sea Bride') was the name of the boat of António Filipe, a fisherman and distinguished resident of Atalaia, who dedicated his entire life to his family, his community and his trade, lobster fishing. It was with him that the soul of this tourist complex was born. With him and from the union and will of three generations united by love, the sea, and love of the sea.
Check in at Noiva do Mar and settle down in comfort in a flat designed with your well-being in mind, offering all the conditions for stays as a couple, family or with friends. The facilities include a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and the always welcome company of the sea, which follows your movements from every angle, with the Berlengas opposite as witnesses.
In the picturesque setting of Porto Novo, with a privileged view over the beach, the sea, and the river Alcabrichel, the Promar seafood restaurant stands out for the quality of its raw ingredients, combined with the exquisite preparation of the delicacies on its menu.

As you can see, Vimeiro Clube Aventura has solutions for every occasion and gives you plenty of reasons to come back and come back and... come back.
This circular route starts next to the Vimeiro Battle Interpretation Centre and takes visitors along trails and places whose memories are associated with the battle. Passing by the Monument Commemorating the Centenary of the Battle, it continues on to Maceira, where Portuguese troops were stationed, and then to Fonte Lima, where three English brigades were hidden in the foothills.
The route is 16 kilometres long and can be travelled in short circuits.
A linear route that allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery, whether it involves the urban area or the beaches that accompany the entire route.
Follow the signs from Porto Novo to Praia Azul, passing through Santa Cruz. With the sea always close by, walk along trails with spectacular scenery, where you can glimpse the imposing cliffs of this coast and the golden sandy beaches, which contrast with the blue of the sky and the sea. Let yourself be lulled by the howling of the waves and fall in love with the breath-taking sunset.
As a guardian of the memory of the battle that took place there on 21 August 1808, the Vimeiro Battle Interpretation Centre was strategically built next to the field where the French and Allied armies clashed. At the entrance to the building, a large window acts as a viewpoint. While listening to the account of the momentous event of the 1st French Invasion, the visitor catches a glimpse of all the action... the imagination is the limit!
The Battle of Vimeiro made it untenable for the invading army to remain in the country, putting an end to the First Invasion and a short period of French rule in Portugal, while proving that the Napoleonic troops were not invincible after all.
The visit to the Centre is spread over several rooms, three of which are exhibitions, and an auditorium, where a video about the Battle of Vimeiro is shown.
The exhibition's collection includes weapons, uniforms, period documents, and unique archaeological pieces. The vast cultural programme is available all year round, both for schoolchildren and for other visitors and their families. This tourist and documentary centre, which is inclusive and accessible to all, will allow you to deepen your knowledge of the Battle of Vimeiro in particular, but also of the Peninsular War and the French Invasions in general.
This large structure, whose splendid geometry is revealed in an aerial view, is composed of three strongholds connected by a common moat. Today, relieved of its defence duties, the complex invites the visitor for a beautiful and instructive walk, with excellent views over the city of Torres Vedras. Built in 1809, the São Vicente Fort is considered one of the most important military works of the entire defensive system of the Lines of Torres Vedras.
