An adventure into the past of planet Earth

Each path of Dino Parque da Lourinhã offers a fascinating insight into the evolution of the
Earth and its inhabitants

Located in tranquil and green Lourinhã, Dino Parque is a unique space that invites visitors to embark on a true journey into the past. With a vast outdoor area, this is the largest museum of its kind in Portugal, offering a natural setting that transports the public to the eras when dinosaurs dominated the Earth.

The park stands out for its impressive life-size dinosaur replicas, some several metres high, carefully inserted into the landscape. These installations recreate, as faithfully as possible, the environment in which these creatures lived millions of years ago, providing an immersive experience that delights children and adults alike.

By exploring the different themed paths in the Dino Parque, visitors can travel through geological eras such as the Palaeozoic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, etc. From the first insects that inhabited the Earth to the gigantic creatures of the Ice Age, each path offers a fascinating insight into the evolution of the planet and its inhabitants. For the daring, there’s also the chance to get up close and personal with the ‘sea monsters’ that dominated the oceans at the time.

Dino Parque also offers interactive activities that make the experience even more enriching. In the ‘Living Lab’ you can watch palaeontologists at work, while the ‘Palaeontologist for a Day’ initiative allows youngsters to feel like they are taking part in a real scientific discovery. These activities complement the trails and guarantee moments of family learning.

With a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and spaces accessible to all, including people with reduced mobility, the park is prepared to welcome visitors of all ages and ensure their comfort. The cosy, natural environment makes Dino Parque a perfect place to spend the day, learning and having fun.

More than just a visit, Lourinhã’s Dino Parque offers a transformative experience. On returning home, visitors will take away not only unforgettable memories, but also a deeper understanding of the planet’s history, its cycles and the extraordinary beings that once inhabited it.

Whether for children who are fascinated by the giant prehistoric creatures or adults who rediscover their enthusiasm for science, this is a destination that combines fun, education, and the beauty of nature in one place.
